De Dom Utrecht Expo was a success!

During the Zilver Camera 2010 (De Zilveren Camera 2010) seminar night, prior to the awards night, I talked about the Resilience project. Me and Fanny where nominated with the Resilience project for the Canon Award 2010. During my talk I proudly presented our book, which is limited to 500 copies, and showed a short movie about the ’special’ 4 day limited launch expo in September 2010. Someone in the audience commented on that by asking why we present this story, which we clearly want to share with the world, in such limited ways. We explained that we had chosen a original launch approach and that the expo will travel throughout The Netherlands. Well.. herewith the results of De Dom Utrecht Expo. From 30/09/2011 till 31/10/2011 De Dom had 22,839 visitors. Most visitors have seen our project, as you can tell by viewing the see-through-copy of our book.

- Het helpen opbouwen van een nieuw atelier op een TOP locatie in Eindhoven. Inrichten, promoten.
- Organisatie voor exposities.
- Promoten van projecten en een nieuw boek.
Enthousiasme + zelfstandig werken + communicatieve vaardigheden zijn een must! Je moet zowel technische kennis hebben als inhoudelijk kunnen meedenken met lopende projecten.
Je krijgt:
- Een werkplek in het atelier voor het uitwerken van eigen ontwikkeling.
- Begeleiding tijdens de stage.
- Praktijk ervaring, studio + op lokatie.
- Gebruik van studio + apparatuur.

Pfff.. last update nov 2010.. What? Isn’t there ANY news in the life of mikeroelofs.eu.. Well.. Yes there is!
Awarded at the Canon Award (Zilveren Camera) with the Resilience project, Did a portrait essay on Dutch Ministers in assignment for the Volkskrant (and a lot of other interesting stuff), We sold nearly 350 of our Resilience books (limited 500), Was part of Fotofestival Naarden with the Resilience Project (photo’s, video and the Book), Made an awesome Music Video for Woody and Paul (The Joker Baby), During the year I taught at the Fotoacademie Eindhoven and last week all my students passed their first year (Give it up!), Working hard in and on a AWESOME studio space in a church together with really nice people, Together with Designer Lucas Maassen where part of the “Talk to me Exhibition” at the MoMa NYC till November the 7th, In the fall I’m going to The Ukraine together with a group of photography lovers (there is room for some more), Next year, starting in September, I’m working on a beautiful assignment given by The Stichting Stedelijke Fotografie in Utrecht, Etc, etc…….
…….. But for now.. I’m off to Canada for 9 weeks till the 10th of September.
